New Listing - Classic Fans Jewelry Set in Red, Brown, Orange, and Gold

I had so much fun making the Knot-Squared Flower jewelry sets, I decided I needed to put some kits together.  Because, well...it has been awhile since I replenished my stock of kits.

And since the Fans series is one of my more popular styles, I thought that would be a great place to start.  But I wanted to make the kits for a slightly different beading scheme.  So I had to make an example, didn't I?  (Yes, it does sound like a great excuse to play beads!)

Since I have already photographed it and begun to put together the kits, I decided to go ahead and list this Classic Fans Jewelry Set at my ArtFire shop.  I am offering each piece separately.  I also offer the pattern/tutorial for this design.

Return to the World of Beads - Flower Jewelry

A few months ago, my husband was diagnosed with cancer.  For the first couple of months, we focused on learning everything we could (he did not want chemo or radiation and I agree).  I have spent most of my time integrating what we learned into our diet.  I was not feeling particularly creative for some time.

A few weeks ago, I attempted to make this Serpentine Bracelet.  What would normally take me an evening to complete ended up taking almost a week.  I could only manage to work on it a little bit at a time.  But, I did like the results.  (I offer the pattern for Serpentine Bracelet (with a clasp instead of the button shown here.)

So, then I thought perhaps trying something simpler and quicker to make might be a better place to start.  After all, something quicker would be more quickly rewarding which might motivate me more.  It worked.  I made one Knot Squared Flower Bracelet (simple square knots with flower beads).  EDIT (30 Dec 14):  I have just listed these kits at my ArtFire Shop.  Find them Here.

I had so much fun making them, I decided to make matching earrings and even figured out how to make matching rings.  The tricky part was connecting the ends to make a near seamless circle.  I am happy with the results.  I hope you agree.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, I hope to get these listed over the next few days.

Edit (30 Dec 14):  Got them listed!  (See above for link).

Life is Change

As several ancient philosophers have said (in one way or another), "The only constant in life is change".  Or, put simply, "Life is Change".  This "Flower" ring seems a symbol of that change to me.  Because like the ring, life's changes often bring us full circle.

A couple of weeks ago, I finally figured out how connect the ends to make a near seamless ring (and yes, I went on to make several - more on them in a post soon to come).  Now, a series of life's events have brought me to conclude that I need to return full circle to Blogger.  As I came to that conclusion, I realized I was relieved and happy to return.  I realized I had missed the community here.  It was kind of lonely over there.

Oh, Weebly was nice enough.  They offer some pretty cool features - especially the ability to offer my patterns/tutorials for immediate download (right after checkout).  But there are a lot more options for selling digital products these days and I think I may have found one that will offer that same ability right here on Blogger.  I will be exploring that option tomorrow.

If successful, I will begin dismantling my Weebly website and moving the relevant content over here.  I am thinking this could take some weeks.  So, please bear with me as I update, reconfigure, edit, move stuff over, etc.  Lastly, I will have my domain changed over.
